Project Title: Chip formation modelling for new titanium alloys

The project is about understanding the fundamentals of how and why certain machining chips form, and add to the development of a model which is able to predict the machining process and the formation of chips under different conditions and with different elemental additions.
Currently experimenting with Ti-64 and Ti-407. Drawing comparisons between both under different machining parameters and investigating how large-scale machining trials compares with small-scale trials.
